You Can’t Have the Body You Want
The title may be a little mis-leading; what I’m trying to say here is that you can’t have the body you want overnight.
What’s the problem with not having what you want right now? Mainly the fact that you want great health and an awesome life right at this moment is a little overwhelming…if you don’t take baby-steps to get there, then it’s easy to program your mind to conflict itself and provide reasons why you won’t be where you want or have what you want. That was a long-ass sentence.
The main point:
If you have a long-term goal for your health, it is not healthy to expect it to happen overnight. Think of the journey to a better body as a process and enjoy it day-by-day. The truth in the matter is that you will reach your goals one step at a time and when you finally do reach them, you’ll know you got there through smaller, more obtainable goals. Another long one…eeesh.
Take these steps to achieve the fitness results you’re looking for and you’ll get there…not overnight…but you’ll get there;
1) forget your past experiences and start looking forward; inject a little positivity in your life, will ya?
2) vision yourself with a 6-pack of abs or killer biceps or a sexy butt or whatever…just form a mental picture and use it to motivate yourself each day.
3) get a workout and nutrition partner(s); you can’t reach your goals as easily without some accountability. Another person journeying forward with you takes the stress off and puts the positive pressure on to push forward.
4) form small committments and make small changes; you won’t be where you’re going in 3 or 4 days…but it will happen eventually if you set smaller realistic goals for each day; start running for 1 mile a day…do it for a week and then increase it etc etc…you get the point and this one’s starting to get old…NEXT:
5) make small changes in your diet; skip the pop/soda/cola (whatever you want to call it) and drink water…it’s not such a big commitment and it’s just one way you can start getting healthier…and please don’t drink the diet stuff: it’s worse than the original.
6) don’t let your emotions/circumstances alter your diet; your life isn’t perfect…or at least I’m guessing judging by the quality of mine. Don’t let that screw up your diet or exercise…stick to it and be disciplined (get that accountability partner)!
The more consistent you remain in your regimine (don’t forget to switch it up a little here and there) and the more focused/dedicated you stay towards reaching your ultimate fitness goals through the little ones you accomplish everyday, the closer you’ll move towards bodily bliss; you’ll be looking in the mirror 6 months from now and trying to figure out which pair of jeans you want to wash on your stomach.
