Easy Ways to Lose Weight (pt. 2)
Get ready for part 2 of 3 in the “Easy Ways to Lose Weight” mini-series…
9. eat more fiber
You’re supposed to get 30 grams of fiber every day; with that said, you might want to start each morning with a breakfast that’s high in fiber…eat whole grain cereal and bread.
10. balance fat, carbs, and protein
Try to eat a diet that’s made up of 30 percent fat, 40 percent carbs, and 30 percent protein…you’ll lose 20% more of your body fat than if you throw more carbs into the mix.
11. eat more lean protein
Almost everything you eat should have some protein in it…it makes you feel fuller by slowing down how fast your food is digested; always a good thing.
12. go “half” veggies
If you make sure every dinner at night is comprised of half vegetables (that’s half the plate, not veggies cut in half), you’ll eat the same volume and decrease caloric intake.
13. quit drinking bad drinks
The more pop, soda, or cola you drink (or any of the drinks listed here), the more empty calories you’re taking in that just aren’t necessary…drink more water.
14. put weight on your remote control
This one’s a bit of a stretch, but if you attach a small 2 pound weight to the bottom of your TV remote, you’ll get just a little exercise every time you change the channel.
15. eat five times a day
By eating 5 meals instead of 3 each day, you can cut down the amount of intake at each meal and kind of “spread out” your metabolism so your body is a fuel machine throughout the day.
16. cut down the alcohol
Alcohol provides a whole ton of calories, carbs, and sugar…do you really need that fifth drink? Try just having one or two each night…read up here.
