The Calcium Your Bones Need
By Derek Huizinga, JumpStartEnergy.com
Your bones need a certain amount of calcium each day…not surprisingly, the average person gets less than the daily recommended amount. It’s important to treat your bones to good health as soon as possible…the younger the better in order to prevent further problems later in life.
These are some general requirements for the daily needs of the average person depending on age:
1. Ages 10 to 20 need 1,300 milligrams of calcium each day; calcium can be obtained through drinking plenty of milk and eating foods such as cheese, green vegetables, and dairy products.
2. Ages 21 to 35 need 1,000 milligrams of calcium each day; exercises to be practiced are walking, running, and stamina conditioning exercises to strengthen bones.
3. Ages 36 to 50 need 1,000 milligrams of calcium each day; bone loss should be carefully prevented and routine screenings by your doctor should be done to monitor bone health.
4. Ages 51 and older need 1,000 milligrams of calcium each day; a minimum of 20 minutes of strength training exercise should also be performed at least 3 days a week. Routine screenings by your doctor should be performed along with a prescribed vitamin D and calcium supplement.
Of course, there are more suggestions for proper bone health; any feedback is valuable.
